This project constructs a 300MW/1.2GWh energy storage station utilizing LFP batteries, supported by a new 220kV booster station connected via a single-circuit 220kV line to the Jiefang 500kV substation. The system consists of 60 identical 5MW/20MWh energy storage units, each configured with four 1,250kW PCS units and one 5,200kVA dual-winding step-up transformer. Each energy storage unit integrates battery racks, PCS, and transformers, where a 5MWh battery rack connects to one 1,250kW PCS unit. Four PCS units feed into one 5,200kVA dual-winding step-up transformer (35kV high-voltage side), with every five such transformer units converging into one 35kV collection feeder. Twelve 35kV feeders deliver power to the project’s 220kV booster station.
As Hebei’s first batch of grid-side standalone ESS demonstrations and a provincial Key Construction Project, this represents China’s largest commissioned grid-side standalone ESS by installed capacity.
